Hartford, CT — Republicans nationwide have already rolled back Roe, and now the

GOP is working to outlaw abortion nationwide. Where does Bob Stefanowski really stand – and who does he stand with?

  1. Stefanowski supports additional restrictions on a woman’s right to choose while also refusing to say whether he would oppose or veto restrictions.  [CT Mirror, 5/12/22]

  2. Stefanowski gave Trump an “A” grade for his Presidential performance in a July 2018 debate, even after the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court and the nomination of Kavanaugh, both of whom voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. [Hartford Courant, 7/13/18; NBC News, 4/7/17;  American Bar Association, Accessed 9/19/22NPR, 6/24/22]

  3. Stefanowski’s campaign is supported by a leader in the anti-choice movement, Sean Fieler, who has promised to spend more than $1 million in support of Stefanowski’s run for Governor. In his contributions to other extremist causes, Fieler has spent “many millions of dollars to fund anti-gay, anti-transgender, anti-birth control and anti-abortion movements. He’s funded campaigns to stop transgender bathroom use, as well as questionable studies vilifying gay parenting.” [Ct Mirror, 4/12/22The Day, Collins Column, 4/16/22]

  4. The Republican Governors Association (RGA) has spent $1.5 million propping up Stefanowski’s campaign, but the group, along with other anti-choice extremists such as the head of the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, have been at the center of planning for state-level abortion bans. [Washington Post, 9/13/22]

  5. Stefanowski planned on fundraising with RGA co-chair Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, who supports a complete ban on abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. [Hartford Courant, 6/22/22CT Mirror, 6/13/22]

  6. Stefanowski has contributed thousands of dollars to anti-abortion Republicans, including maxing out to Leora Levy. [Open Secrets, Accessed 6/15/22Daily Ructions, Kevin Rennie, 7/15/22]
