Hartford, CT — Republicans nationwide have already rolled back Roe, and now the
GOP is working to outlaw abortion nationwide. Where does Bob Stefanowski really stand – and who does he stand with?
Right-wing groups are doing backflips over Stefanowski’s candidacy. Extreme anti-abortion leaders say that Bob Stefanowski has “heartened pro-life voters.” [CT Mirror, 5/12/22]
Stefanowski has given a maximum donation to Leora Levy, who is virulently anti-choice, and Stefanowski planned on fundraising with RGA co-chair Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, who supports a complete ban on abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. [Hartford Courant, 6/22/22; CT Mirror, 6/13/22]
Bob Stefanowski has refused to say whether he would have signed the “safe harbor” law signed by Gov. Lamont, which protects reproductive rights statewide. [CT Mirror, 5/10/22]
The GOP nationwide is working to outlaw abortion in all 50 states, and Stefanowski’s campaign is supported by Sean Fieler, a leader in the anti-choice movement. Fieler has promised to spend more than $1 million in support of Stefanowski’s run for Governor. When Stefanowski had a chance to speak out against anti-abortion Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, he “took a pass” on answering during 2018 debate. [CT Dems, 9/27/18]
Stefanowski gave Trump an “A” grade for his Presidential performance in a July 2018 debate, even after the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court and the nomination of Kavanaugh, both of whom voted to overturn Roe v. The Republican Governors Association (RGA) has spent $1.5 million propping up Stefanowski’s campaign, but the group, along with other anti-choice extremists such as the head of the Susan B.
