Ned Voted Clear First Place Finisher

Ned Lamont was the clear first place finisher in the Connecticut AFL-CIO Straw Poll for our state’s next governor. Out of six choices, the second place candidate was more than 30 percent away.

It was just a straw poll of 216 AFL-CIO delegates. . . But Democrat Ned Lamont of Greenwich trounced the rest of the field so strongly Friday that it’s hard not not to read much into it . . . Lamont’s performance was “one of the best I’ve ever seen,” said Sal Luciano executive director of AFSCME Council 4." It is clear that Ned Lamont is the best choice to fight for the working families of this state. He’ll lead the fight for fair wages and benefits that ensure the respect and dignity that come with an honest day’s work. It’s also because he is the best choice to lead this state forward during the Trump administration.

"This is an extraordinarily important election,'' Lamont told 216 delegates who gathered at the Hartford Hilton . . . In his brief comments before the poll was conducted, Lamont expressed his support for raising the state's hourly minimum wage to $15, preserving collective bargaining rights and mandating pay equity for women. He pledged that labor would be “in the room” in his administration." (source: Hartford Courant)

Let’s keep the momentum going. If we stand together, we're going to win.

Make a donation — of any amount — to Ned Lamont’s campaign for Governor as a way of saying our state needs a leader who will stand up and fight for the working people of this state.
